Vital Signs: Accommodation
Delegates will need to arrange their own accommodation during the conference.
The places below are suggestions of some places to stay for different budgets. We have used both the Ibis and Luther King House within the past year.
The HotelsCombined search engine has been recommended to us. The website searches for available hotels and offers a rebate of 10% of the cost of the accommodation to staff and students of tertiary education organisations. We haven't used the site ourselves so we can't guarantee it, but you might like to have a look.
Ibis, Portland Street
This is one of the cheapest city centre options. It is about a mile away from the conference venue, and there are plenty of buses serving the university.
Rooms are £61 per night and breakfast is £5.50 or there are places nearby where you could eat. At the moment, availability is good, but early booking is recommended. The Ibis is just on the edge of Chinatown.

Luther King House
Luther King House is a few miles south of the city centre on Wilmslow Road, which is a continuation of Oxford Road. A single room including breakfast is £42.50.
It is about 1.5 mile to the conference venue. It's an easy to navigate walk or there are lots of buses. Luther King House is handy for Rusholme, home of Manchester's curry mile.

Youth Hostel
If you are looking for a cheap option, the Youth Hostel is £19.95 including breakfast. It's 2 miles from the conference venue in the Castlefield area.
Go to Youth Hostel Association Manchester page > [new window]
Hilton, Deansgate
This is a very expensive option but as it's Manchester's tallest building it would make finding your way back in the evening easy. Rooms from £145.
Go to Hilton Deansgate website > [new window]
There is a bar on the 23rd floor which will give you the same view for the cost of a (pricey) drink.
